April’s torment in Emmerdale as bleeding sparks fresh ordeal

April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) was terribly worried in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale as she discovered her bed sheets stained with blood.
The young girl has only been back in the village a few weeks, after spending the end of 2024 and the start of 2025 on the streets.
April was reunited with Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) due to being rushed to hospital. She had given birth to a stillborn baby girl in the toilet of a gym, and was then found on a park bench in a bad way.
While Marlon and Rhona have been thrilled to have April back home, they’ve both accepted in their hearts reconnecting with her won’t be easy.
For Rhona, things have been a little different for her compared to Marlon, due to having an idea – albeit a very small one – as to what she’s going through.
In tonight’s episode, Rhona opened April’s bedroom door and found her feeling lightheaded. She explained she was bleeding.
Later on, in the café, a conversation between the two characters allowed us to learn April’s blood was as a result of her period returning.
Rhona was able to help April by explaining the period is just her body readjusting after being pregnant.
While Rhona could connect with April over pregnancy and women’s health as a whole, the teen felt alone when she said the blood reminded her of giving birth to her daughter.
Still trying her best to help, Rhona told April about the importance of taking small steps.
April won’t ever be the person she was before she ran away in December, but making tiny bits of progress in her journey will eventually allow her to heal and cope with everything she went through.
