Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge will be stepping onto the island of Saint Marie in Death In Paradise as Sterling Fox but where will fans recognise him from?

Death In Paradise season 14 is having a shake-up once again after the introduction of latest detective DI Mervin Wilson (played by Don Gilet) was introduced at the start of the series.

Now, Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) is hanging up his hat as the island’s police Commissioner with a new face set to take over the role.

Sterling Fox (Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge) is going to be the next Commissioner welcomed to the team in the next episode which airs on Friday, 7th March, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

And while he may be the new kid on the Saint Marie block, fans of the iconic comedy-drama may recognise him from another BBC series.

Actor Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge is best known for portraying Josh Hudson in the medical drama Holby City for its last two years before getting axed in March 2022.

He will be remembered for his romance with consultant surgeon Ange Godard (Dawn Steele) with the latter unsure if they would work given their age gap.

Nevertheless, they pursued their romance and Ange fell pregnant with twins, with the couple getting their happily ever after.

Apart from Holby City, Blackwood-Cambridge has been in BBC Three’s Enterprice, Channel 4’s This Way Up and Disney+’s Rematch.

When Sterling does show up at the police station, he is dressed head-to-toe in a fine suit and steps out of a flashy car.

Things get even more awkward though when he takes a tour around the station and labels it as “cute”, rubbing the rest of the team up the wrong way.

He is also expected to cause problems for Mervin as he tries to get in his way of investigating the suspicious circumstances around his mum’s death.

But will the team eventually warm up to their new Commissioner or is it going to be rocky waters from now on?

Death In Paradise is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
