Emmerdale confirms return for dark Kim Tate as she makes sinister declaration with huge consequences

Emmerdale’s Kim Tate (Claire King) has arguably gone a bit soft of late. Her usual hard lines on no nonsense have become blurry and muddled as she has tried to keep the peace and keep family close.

But that is to come to an end as she sets her sights on protecting her empire. It’s about to come under threat again from her enemy Caleb (Will Ash).

There is no love lost between Kim and Caleb after he tried to infiltrate her family via his son Nicky (Lewis Cope) in a bid to bring her world down. Learning of Joe’s (Ned Porteous) new feud with Caleb, Kim is determined to protect what’s hers.

The whole Anthony (Nicholas Day) saga is still rumbling on as for those Emmerdale locals not in the know, his disappearance remains a mystery. Caleb and Ruby (Beth Cordingly) are on edge when DI Roberts comes snooping around, but it transpires the DI is only interested in the depot break in and not what’s up with Anthony.

When the detective leaves and Caleb breathes a sigh of relief, Joe is quick to appear and shatter that moment. It causes Caleb to turn violent.

Cain (Jeff Hordley) intervenes and is worried at how bad things have become between them. He uses his friendship with Kim to appeal to her better nature to help put a stop to their feud.

Caleb and Ruby (Beth Cordingly) are summoned to Home Farm where Kim is ready to end this war. Not an easy undertaking with huge secrets between them – with Joe suspicious about Anthony, and Caleb having unwittingly lost a kidney to Joe. Things descend into a quarrel and Kim steps up to suggest a truce.

She offers Caleb the land surrounding the depot and they shake on the deal. With Caleb sufficiently sweetened, and it looking like Kim has gone soft again, Caleb leaves with a smile on his face while Kim’s plan is coming together.

She turns on Joe for creating the situation but reveals her next plan – to keep their enemies close and become an unstoppable empire together. What else has she got up her sleeve?
