Major dead body murder twist in Emmerdale – and it changes everything

After weeks of speculation, Emmerdale’s John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) has confirmed that Anthony Fox’s (Nicholas Day) body isn’t buried in the woods after all.
The plot thickens.
The mysterious character, as fans will recall, assisted Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) in getting rid of Anthony’s body, with Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) having previously killed the abuser.
John’s penchant for taking control of the situation has been the subject of much concern, with Steph (Georgia Jay) worried about whether or not he can be trusted.
As viewers know, Steph has been really struggling in the wake of discovering that not only is Anthony dead but that he was her biological father.
The situation escalated quite dramatically last week, when Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) – determined to figure out why the Miligans have been so secretive about Anthony – sent a bunch of flowers to Mill Cottage, making it look like the twisted abuser had been in touch.
Steph feared that the flowers were proof of her theory that Anthony is still alive and therefore she headed to the spot of the woods where John claimed the villain was buried and started to dig.
Caleb (William Ash) soon arrived and urged his daughter to stop digging – literally – but things took a turn when Steph revealed that the soil was undisturbed, meaning Anthony couldn’t be buried where John claimed.
With all eyes on him, John finally revealed that Anthony isn’t buried here after all and he withheld his true burial spot for their own good because they don’t need to know where it is.
Ruby and Steph were taken aback, wondering whether John could be trusted. They weren’t alone, with Aaron upset that his fiancé kept such a big secret from him.
John, as viewers know, isn’t the person he claims to be, with scenes last week confirming that – in addition to assisting in the cover-up of Anthony’s death – John is also to blame for Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) demise.
John appears to have something of a hero complex, whereby he orchestrates situations that put people’s lives are in danger so that he can swoop in and save them, claiming all their glory.

But his actions backfired where Nate was concerned, with the farmhand subsequently dying. Nate’s body remains at the bottom of an icy lake – but will he soon be discovered?
And is it only a matter of time before John is caught out?
