Kelvin Fletcher reveals secret crush on legendary Emmerdale co-star

Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has admitted he had somewhat of a crush on his co-star when he worked on the show.
Actor and farmer Kelvin played the role of Andy Sugden from 1996-2016. Life remains very busy for Kelvin since leaving the show, as he continues to run a farm with his wife Liz.
As if they don’t have enough on their plates, Kelvin and Liz recently added to their busy schedules by hosting a soap-based podcast called Off Script. Every week, Kelvin and Liz interview stars from Coronation Street and Emmerdale to discuss what it’s like working on the beloved shows.
Just recently, topic of conversation turned to Kim Tate, played by Claire King. It was during this moment Kelvin made an admission to the podcast, revealing he had a crush on Claire back in the day.

‘I think we’ve got to give a special mention as well to Claire King, of course, who plays Kim Tate’, he said. ‘So she started Emmerdale in 1989. I remember when I started in Emmerdale, I started in 1996, and quite a few characters become soap legends.
‘I think Kim Tate is iconic. You think of Emmerdale, and as regards as an actress, having worked with her myself. She’s just a fantastic team member.’
He added: ‘Looks amazing on camera. I used to have the biggest crush on her. Everyone adores her because she works so hard, she cares so much for the show and the audience love her as well. She’s just a brilliant character!’.
‘I sit back from afar and admire that show’, Kelvin previously told Metro when discussing Emmerdale, and whether he’d ever return.
‘I admire it selfishly for the experience it gave me. 20 years I was there, 20 unbelievably happy years and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity.
‘As a young actor who just loved the thought of, you know, the fame bit and the personality bit is a by-product and it’s not something I ever chased as a kid. I just wanted to act, that was my thing and to be given that opportunity for 20 years in an iconic show, playing a fantastic character who was, you know, who resonated with an audience.
‘So that is something I’ve always, you know, felt immense sense of pride. And so I look back with a fondness of memories, but the show is doing fantastic. It won an NTA recently. Does it need me? It’s doing very well.’
