Emmerdale scene ‘confirms’ John Sugden will kill again – but not Robert
Emmerdale's latest episode heavily hinted John Sugden is about to strike again, but while he does seem to target Robert Sugden in upcoming scenes it might not be him who 'dies'
There could be another shocking murder looming on Emmerdale, as a scene with John Sugden teased he could strike again.
Viewers know that John murdered Nate Robinson by accident late last year, drugging him and planning on bringing him back to life only for the first injection, and whatever was in it, to kill him. His crime has been undetected, as have the other instances where John has deliberately harmed people.
He even tried to kill his ex Aidan Moore, with us still not knowing the full events that left Aidan in a coma. John seems to have a hero complex, with the ex army medic and paramedic orchestrating instances where people are in danger so he can save them.
While his brother Robert Sugden has cracked on to his “creepy” behaviour, knowing something “isn’t right with him”, everyone else is John’s biggest fan. But a scene on Wednesday night may have confirmed someone else is about to lose their life, or at least be badly hurt.
We saw John spiralling in the episode after learning his husband Aaron Dingle had kissed his ex Robert on their wedding day. After John made a dark threat to Robert suggesting he would hurt him if he went back to the village, Wednesday’s visit to the Dales saw the villain make a worrying phone call.
He called up a helpline and shard his heartbreak over the betrayal, but focused on the fact he needed admiration from Aaron. Something the person on the phone advised will no doubt have sparked concern with viewers given his recent killer antics.
But it might not be Robert facing death, despite John kidnapping him and possibly hurting him next week according to new spoilers. Images show him stood over a lifeless Robert with a syringe, but whether he takes action remains to be see.
As for the present, his chat on the phone saw John deciding he needed to do something, and it was hinted he was planning on playing the hero once more. The person on the phone asked him: “Are there things you do in your life to make yourself feel better?”
John then told her, clearly referencing his saviour complex: “Work, I’m a paramedic, ex army medic. When I save someone it’s the biggest high in the world, it lasts for days everyone telling me how good I am.”
The caller pointed out: “You need other people’s affirmation to make yourself feel good.” John then fumed of Aaron: “Well I need my husband to look up to me. I was his hero now I’m not so sure. I can feel him slipping away, I can’t lose him.”
They told him: “Focus on the positives. You say you’re a paramedic?” to which he chillingly replied: “It’s what I do best.” They told him: “Focus on that, saving people. You sound passionate about it. I’m sure you do a great job.
“Maybe if you feel fulfilled everything else will fall into place.” Of course they had no idea they were actively encouraging him to continue his dark crimes, putting lives at risk.
John then sinisterly commented with a smirk on his face: “Yes, thank you. I know exactly what I need to do.” So what does John have planned, and is Aaron now in danger?
After all, he commented that he needed to be his hero again and he wanted to take drastic action to make this happen. The caller’s suggestion to play the hero once more will no doubt have spurred him on to get Aaron to see him as his saviour.
So is Aaron in serious danger, and could John strike again? Will Aaron or someone else end up being harmed or even killed as John desperately tries to claw back his hero status?
