Emmerdale return from dead twist ‘sealed’ and Cain Dingle will be speechless
Emmerdale fans are convinced a former resident is returning from the dead in a shock twist
Emmerdale viewers are convinced that a past character is set for a shocking resurrection.
Cain (Jeff Hordley), a staple of the soap since 2000, has certainly had his fair share of trials and tribulations in the village recently.
In addition to losing his dear father Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) last year, his wife Moira (Natalie J Robb) underwent surgery to remove a discovered brain tumour. To add insult to injury, Cain was dealt another blow when he learned his son Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had been brutally murdered and discarded in a local river.
Unbeknown to Cain, his son fell victim to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) on the very day he was due to relocate to Shetland for a new job opportunity, reports Belfast Live.
Tragically, Nate was slain by paramedic John, with his body subsequently concealed and dumped in the lake.
The discovery of Nate’s body sent shockwaves through the village. Meanwhile, John has so far evaded justice for his heinous act, shifting the blame onto Nate’s wife, Tracy (Amy Walsh), and even Cain himself.
However, this week saw a familiar face return to the village for Nate’s funeral – his mother and Cain’s former flame, Cara (Carryl Thomas).
Fans will remember Cara’s introduction to the soap in January 2020, where it was revealed that she fell pregnant with Cain’s child in the 90s, later giving birth to Nate.
Cain remained oblivious to the existence of his secret son until much later. After settling into village life, Cara eventually bid farewell to the Dales in October 2020.
However, viewers are now buzzing with speculation that a dramatic ‘back from the grave’ storyline could be on the cards.
Taking to an Emmerdale Facebook fan group, supporters are convinced Nate may have had a secret twin sibling – with the corpse belonging to his doppelganger instead.
“Nate isn’t dead!” one viewer proclaimed confidently. Another chimed in: “Well it couldn’t get any dafter.” A third supporter floated their twin hypothesis: “He might have a twin brother.”
Pondering Cara’s potential involvement in the major plot development, another enthusiast suggested: “Maybe his mum is in on it too and that’s why she’s returned.”
A fifth concurred: “I think that too.” Meanwhile, a sixth fan remarked: “Well stranger things have happened haven’t they.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
