Emmerdale confirms return of fan favourite as April Windsor’s new love interest revealed
Emmerdale's April Windsor looks set to move on from her traumatic year as her new love interest has been confirmed
Emmerdale’s April Windsor is in for a surprising new village romance.
April (played by Amelia Flanagan) has endured a tumultuous few months on the ITV soap. Late last year, she disappeared after storming out of her home following a row with her father Marlon (Mark Charnock).
While living rough, she befriended Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) and his mate Becca (Becca Ashton), who took April under their wing, particularly when they discovered she was expecting.
Sadly, Becca was fatally stabbed after pursuing a thief who had nicked her cash. In a heartbreaking twist, April later gave birth to a stillborn baby in a public loo.
Fortunately, April was found and returned to the village, attempting to restore some semblance of normality. Shortly thereafter, Dylan reappeared, eager to turn over a new leaf, reports Belfast Live.
Struggling with a spice addiction, Dylan was fighting his own demons, but Marlon disapproved of him and even planted drugs on Dylan in an attempt to push him out of April’s life.
However, Marlon’s scheme backfired when Dylan overdosed, leading him to leave the village for rehab – funded by Marlon himself.
Next week, Dylan returns to the famous village, and it appears there’s more drama on the horizon. In next week’s Emmerdale, Moira Dingle (Natalie J.
Robb) hears a noise from the barn and discovers two masked teenagers, one of whom is Dylan.
In a state of sheer terror, Moira’s son Kyle inadvertently jabs Dylan in the leg with a pitchfork before Moira sends them packing.
Later on, April stumbles upon Dylan hiding in the bushes at the cemetery and encourages him to come out. Dylan discloses that he’s clean, much to April’s delight as she welcomes her friend back.
Subsequently, as Dylan prepares to bed down at the Cricket Pavillion, he inspects his leg where Kyle stabbed him and it’s not looking too rosy.
The following day, when Dylan and April meet up, they arrange a date, suggesting a budding romance between the two. However, when new baddie Ray (Joe Absolom) shows up, Dylan ditches his date.
