Emmerdale enthusiasts have ‘uncovered’ the new proprietor of the Wishing Well cottage – and it’s not Tina Dingle.

The legendary cottage has been the family’s hub since 1967, providing a home for numerous members of the Dingle tribe over the decades. At present, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) is the household head, residing there with his wife Lydia (Karen Blick), his cousin Mandy (Lisa Riley) and her son Vinny (Bradley Johnson).

Nonetheless, a massive soap plot twist could be on the horizon. Recently in the Dales, Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) tragically passed away off-screen. In reality, Steve died in December last year at the age of 77. This week saw Zak’s funeral take place, delivering the expected drama.

During the funeral, the Dingles were shocked when an unexpected woman arrived – clearly a family member. The truth quickly unravelled as Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) identified the woman as Tina Dingle (Samantha Power), reports Leeds Live.

The Dingle family suffered a heartbreaking loss on Tuesday night when they found out about the death of their patriarch, Zak

Tina made her first appearance on Emmerdale in 1994 but departed two years later, in 1996. The character was initially played by Jacqueline Pirie, but now actress Samantha Power has assumed the role.

Zak’s funeral soon turned explosive for the Dingles, as Tina began hurling insults at the family, overshadowing Zak’s farewell. She also brazenly attempted to stake her claim on the Wishing Well cottage after being caught with photos of the house on her phone.

Lydia (played by Karen Blick) decided to spell things out, dropping a bombshell that she had Zak’s final testament showing a different story. Shock waves followed as it was unveiled that Tina was actually on an electronic tag.

Then drama hit the fan when the coppers turned up and dragged her away for flouting her probation terms. Before being whisked off, a seething Tina threw down a gauntlet, hinting this row with the Dingles is far from finished.

However, soap fans are now betting that the Dingles might get booted from Wishing Well cottage and it’s not Tina who’ll take over the reins. Viewers suspect Ruby Milligan (Beth Cordingly) is about to come into the money from her recently deceased mum.

“Will Ruby’s inheritance from her mother give her the opportunity to buy the Dingle’s cottage and land when they have no money to pay the taxman? ? ? ? ?” one armchair detective speculated online. Another concurred: “Yup I can see Caleb and Ruby trying to get it .” Yet another chimed in saying: “Yes maybe Ruby will buy it.”

Tina’s bombshell return to the soap has stirred up quite the pot, and star-to-watch Samantha teases us saying: “Well, she has no filters, and she will literally do anything to make sure she gets her way, including her claim to the house. She is not one to be trusted! I loved it!” She continued to dish: “She is feisty, bolshy, selfish, and she always seems to have an agenda and won’t stop at anything to get what she wants!”
