Beyond Paradise star Zahra Ahmadi has shared an exciting update about the popular BBC series.

The crime series, which is a spin-off from the long-running Death in Paradise, has proved to be a massive hit with viewers, who have been waiting for the next series after season three concluded in May last year.

Whilst it was already known that the programme would be returning, Zahra has now revealed that filming for series four has wrapped.

The actress – who also features in ITV’s new drama Betrayal – was asked about her upcoming projects and said: “I’ve just wrapped on the fourth series of Beyond Paradise so we’re moving into the post-production side of things now on that front, and Betrayal’s executive producer Tom Leggett is going to look at a couple of writing ideas with me that we floated whilst filming, which I’m very excited about.”

Beyond Paradise follows Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman ( Kris Marshall) after his departure from the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie which is featured in Death in Paradise, reports the Express.

He and his partner Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) have now settled in Shipton Abbott, close to the Devon coastline.

Humphrey serves on the local police force alongside Detective Sergeant Esther Williams, who is portrayed by Zahra.

The actress is also due to appear with Shaun Evans and Romola Garai in Betrayal, a four-part ITV thriller which is set within the world of MI5, and which the broadcaster says “explores the fragile, tangled web of human relationships, where loyalty and deception collide”.

Shaun portrays John Hughes, a mid-career MI5 officer grappling with a fast-changing intelligence world whilst trying to maintain stability in his personal life.

Zahra revealed that when she received the initial scripts before her audition, she “absolutely whizzed through them”, saying: “I think is always a sign of great writing.”

“I was desperate to read episode four but had to wait a little while before they shared it with me!” added the star.
