Death in Paradise fans fume as series announces replacement in schedule shake-up

Death in Paradise fans have been left fuming by the schedule shake-up as the show made an announcement

Death in Paradise fans have been left unimpressed after they announced this week’s episode will be taken off air and replaced by the football.

Taking to its official Death in Paradise Instagram account, the show wrote, “Quick heads up: due to football, this week’s #DeathInParadise will be on BBC iPlayer this Friday, but it won’t be on BBC One until Monday night!”

Fans didn’t take long to share their thoughts, with many taking to the comments section to air their frustration.

One fan said, “No! Why can’t the football be moved?”

Another commented, “Not fair to move DIP for the football – Mervin can’t watch football as he wasn’t allowed to install a satellite dish outside the shack!”

A third asked, “Does that mean we will get two episodes that week?”

Someone else went on, “Why should it change due to a football match? Makes me mad.”

Another agreed, “Why don’t you put football on iPlayer and leave Death in Paradise alone?”

“Just put football on BBC2, 3, or 4 instead. This isn’t a difficult decision,” one fan suggested.

Death in Paradise usually airs at 9pm on Fridays, but this week, it will be replaced with Match of the Day Live.

The synopsis for the game, which starts at 7.30pm and ends at 10pm reads, “Hull City v Chelsea (Kick-off 7.45pm). All the action from the fourth-round tie at MKM Stadium.

“The match sees Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior return to the team he managed from November 2022 until May 2024, and he will be expecting nothing less than a win as his new club look to lift the trophy for the first time since 2018.

“However, Championship outfit Hull have performed well this term under Sergej Jakirovic and will be looking to cause a major upset.”

Death in Paradise is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
