Death in Paradise season 15 epsiode 5 stars The Crown and Black Mirror legends
Death in Paradise season 15 continues with episode five bringing some very familiar faces into the fold.
Death in Paradise series 15 rolls on with a stellar line-up of guest stars joining tonight’s fifth episode on BBC One.
True to form, another murder mystery unfolds in Saint Marie when a travelling theatre troupe stages their closing performance of Shakespeare‘s The Tempest on one of the island’s picturesque beaches.
However, during the production, a principal actor collapses and dies after consuming red wine from a bottle contaminated with a fatal dose of cyanide.
The victim wasn’t alone in drinking from the bottle though, so how is it possible that only one person perished?
As viewers get ready to tune in for the evening with DI Mervin Wilson (played by Don Gilet) and his colleagues, here’s a guide to the episode five cast.
Death in Paradise season 15 episode 5 guest stars
Anya Chambers – Phoebe Sparrow
Amongst the touring performers is Anya Chambers, who appears dressed in a jester-style costume, but might she have played a more sinister role in the killing?
Actress Phoebe Sparrow has accumulated numerous smaller parts in popular programmes including Becki Sutton in Curfew, Karen Surtees in Dalgliesh and Amelia Grey in Downton Abbey.
Michael Farrer – Samuel Edward-Cook
Peaky Blinders fans may recognise actor Samuel Edward-Cook from his portrayal of Danny Whizz Bang in the acclaimed BBC series.
However, he has also appeared in other notable programmes including Land Girls as Walter Storey, DC Steve Beckton in ITV’s Innocent and Jason in Emmerdale back in 2017.
He portrays Michael Farrer in Death in Paradise, with recently unveiled pictures depicting him in a confrontation with another character, though the reason remains unclear.
Jez Gorman – Ben Lloyd-Hughes
A Shakespearean thespian colleague, Jez Gorman appears performing on stage alongside his castmates, but with no off-stage photographs released, could this suggest he becomes this episode’s casualty?
Jez is portrayed by Ben Lloyd-Hughes, known for his performances as Alexander Colbourne in Sanditon, Mark Bolland in The Crown, Greg Grayson in Industry and Franz Muller QC in I Fought The Law.
Nathan Burns – Paul G Raymond
Paul G Raymond gained recognition through Horrible Histories, though he’s equally remembered for his portrayal of Kabir Dudani in the memorable Black Mirror instalments USS Callister and USS Callister: Infinity.
Raymond also featured briefly as the TVA office agent in the 2024 Marvel blockbuster Deadpool Vs Wolverine.
He’s set to portray Nathan Burns in Death in Paradise, but without any costume photographs, it’s thought unlikely he’s playing a performer.
Nathan appears engaged in an intense discussion with Michael Farrer, suggesting he may be harbouring information for Mervin to uncover.
Richard Dempster – Tim McMullan
Tim McMullan has appeared in The Crown, The Queen, Foyle’s War, The Serpent and Enola Holmes 2, though he’s arguably most recognisable as Atticus Pund in the BBC’s mystery series Magpie Murders.
He’s cast as Richard Dempster, photographed looking anxious but might this indicate he’s wrestling with remorse?
