Hit drama Death in Paradise is currently broadcasting its 15th series on BBC One, with DI Mervin Wilson (played by Don Gilet) continuing to solve a series of puzzling murders on Saint Marie.

The cast also includes Don Warrington, Shantol Jackson, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Élizabeth Bourgine and Catherine Garton as Selwyn Patterson, Naomi Thomas, Sebastian Rose, Catherine Bordey and Mattie Fletcher, respectively.

Many viewers will undoubtedly be longing for DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) and his romantic interest, DS Florence Cassell (Joséphine Jobert), who fronted the popular series for a number of years.

Florence made her debut on Saint Marie during the fourth series in January 2015. Growing up surrounded by male relatives, the character developed assertiveness from an early age, which contributed to her rapid career progression.

However, heartbreak soon followed when her fiancé, Patrice Campbell (Leemore Marrett Jr), was murdered after becoming entangled in a killing through his closest friend, reports the Express.

Unable to move past Patrice’s death, Florence chose to take time away from work. She departed Saint Marie to stay with relatives, before re-joining the police force in series 10. Her return proved short-lived, however, as she was compelled to depart again for her own protection following an undercover mission.

Florence subsequently made an unexpected comeback at the conclusion of series 13, though she eventually chose to depart the island permanently alongside Neville.

Two years after her emotional departure, let’s discover what actress Joséphine Jobert is doing now.

Where is Joséphine Jobert now?

It appears Joséphine has remained rather busy following her departure from Death in Paradise. Since 2024, the actress has taken on the role of Deputy Chief Geneviève “Arch” Archambault in the CBC television drama, Saint-Pierre.

The Canadian crime drama is both set and shot in the French territory of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, as well as St John’s, Newfoundland. The series follows a Newfoundland police officer (portrayed by Allan Hawco), who finds himself relocated to the French islands, where he joins forces with a determined deputy to investigate puzzling crimes.

The official synopsis states: “After one of Donny “Fitz” Fitzpatrick’s investigations gets uncomfortably close to the corruption of a powerful local politician, he is exiled to the French collecivity of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, where he partners with local police officer Geneviève “Arch” Archambault to solve local crimes.”

The programme’s second series debuted earlier this year, with Joséphine having previously offered an enticing glimpse of what viewers can expect.

The actress shared the second series trailer on her Instagram profile in November 2025, writing: “The Season 2 trailer is finally out! Filming wraps in one week, and the season will be released at the beginning of 2026. I cannot wait to share it with you. I am so proud of the work we have done. I thought Season 1 was already amazing. Honestly, you are not ready for Season 2.”

Aside from her acting career, Joséphine has also posted videos of herself dancing on social media, a hobby that helped her remain “anchored” during a difficult period. She shared on Instagram: “There was a time when I felt my femininity slipping away. I couldn’t pinpoint when it started, but slowly, I lost touch with the woman I was. It happened quietly, gradually, but it hurt.”

This comes after BBC viewers expressed disappointment when Joséphine departed Death in Paradise. One fan commented on Reddit: “She’s the heart and soul of the show, it’s never quite the same without her.”

Another viewer chimed in: “I really miss her, honestly. While I do like Naomi, I really would have loved if Florence had become the first non-English DI in the show; especially with her experience and smarts.”
