BBC Beyond Paradise viewers concerned as beloved character faces health scare
Beyond Paradise viewers were left fearing for Anne Lloyd after she paid a secret visit to the doctor on Friday
Beyond Paradise fans were left feeling concerned for a beloved character after they made a worrying discovery on Friday (April 11).
The beloved BBC One crime drama has had viewers glued to their screens since its return last month, with Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman and Zahra Ahmadi as DS Esther Williams tackling yet more perplexing cases.
In the most recent instalment, local chocolate maker Gabriella Dalmori, played by Alicia Charles, became the prime suspect when customers were poisoned after tasting her new confectionery.
As DI Goodman dug deep into the investigation, it became a race against time to figure out if Gabriella was behind the vile deed or an innocent target of a setup.
The plot thickened for the team at Shipton Abbott as they discovered that the remaining chocolate samples were untainted, leaving them scratching their heads on how the sinister saboteur managed to target specific victims.
With fear spreading among the townsfolk faster than a rumour mill, our intrepid detectives had to act fast to track down the true villain, reports the Express.
Elsewhere, Anne Lloyd, portrayed by Barbara Flynn, discreetly sought advice from Dr Hodges (Syreeta Kumar) about a worrisome mole that she spotted on her back in the previous episode.
Trying to downplay her concerns, Anne remarked during her visit, “I hate to take up your time when you’ve got people with real problems to see,” adding, “I’m sure it’s a fuss about nothing.”
However, the doctor took no chances, immediately booking Anne in for a biopsy at the hospital the very next day.
Anne panicked that her recent sunny getaways might have led to the suspicious mole, but Dr Hodges told her not to “jump to conclusions” until they had the test results.
Choosing to spare her daughter Martha (played by Sally Bretton) from additional stress after the loss of her dad, Anne didn’t reveal her health worries.
Dr Hodges offered some heartfelt advice: “I’m saying this to you as your friend. Asking for help is not a weakness, it’s a strength,” to which Anne reassuringly responded, “Oh don’t worry about me. Despite appearances, I’m a tough old bird really.”
Fans of Beyond Paradise were beside themselves with worry and quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their concerns for Anne.
“Anne had better not be sick,” one person wrote, with another adding: “I hope Anne is okay! She needs to speak to Martha.”
A third said: “Someone give Anne a hug,” with another similarly sharing: “I was wondering why Anne wasn’t telling Martha.”
