Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) had her suspicions confirmed about Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, as Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) revealed a massive secret about him.
Back in February, Charity drove a limo out of the village with a number of residents inside. Down the road, Caleb Miligan (William Ash) was driving another limo, with male characters and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) in the back.
Caleb crashed his vehicle as a result of swerving an oncoming lorry. Charity also crashed, but she was forced to move her limo because she saw Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) staggering into the road.
The limo with the female residents and Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) got stuck on an icy lake, and the ordeal resulted in Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jameson) and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) dying, with Noah also being hospitalised for spiking.
In the aftermath, Charity and Noah tried to work out what happened to him to try and ease his guilt. However, because Noah had little to no memory of the event, he was left convinced he was the reason Leyla, Suzy and Amy died.
Noah suffered small flashbacks of the ordeal and briefly remembered Joe being with him. This interested Charity a great deal, but a manipulative Joe convinced his brother he had got things wrong.
A few weeks later, we received confirmation that Joe did spike Noah, as he tried to illegally put his brother through an organ donation op. Joe drugged his sibling, took him to a hospital, but Doctor Crowley (James Hillier) then confirmed Noah wasn’t a match for him, so they sent him away.
This bombshell was discovered by the Miligan family recently, but because Joe and Caleb both had dirt on each other, they chose to move on.
Unfortunately, the past was dug up again in tonight’s episode of the ITV soap. After Ruby made a comment about Joe in the pub, Charity grew suspicious.
She later arrived at Mill Cottage and pushed Ruby for information on Joe, but she was initially reluctant to reveal anything, knowing it would put her family at risk.
Ruby made Charity agree to a deal – she would tell her the secret about Joe but in return, she would ensure her and Caleb remained uninvolved.
Ruby confirmed to Charity that Joe did spike Noah, and she was utterly stunned. It also didn’t take her very long afterwards to work out that Joe stole Caleb’s kidney.
Charity is now in search of revenge on Joe, which adds her to the long list of people who would like to see the back of him.
Someone will strike tomorrow – but will it be Charity following this massive discovery?
