Death in Paradise’s Kris Marshall wants all 5 lead detectives to meet in special crossover
"I would love some kind of reunion."
Death in Paradise star Kris Marshall has said he wants all five of the show’s lead detectives to “meet up on screen”.
The actor played DI Humphrey Goodman on the hit BBC drama from 2014 to 2017, and has reprised the role in spin-off Beyond Paradise since 2023.

Death in Paradise has also featured lead detectives played by Ben Miller (DI Richard Poole), Ardal O’Hanlon (DI Jack Mooney) and Ralf Little (DI Neville Parker) over its 14-year run.
Meanwhile, Don Gilet made his debut as DI Mervin Wilson in December 2024, and his first full series leading the show is due to conclude soon.
Speaking to Radio Times ahead of the release of Beyond Paradise‘s third season later this month, Marshall shared his hopes for all five of the detectives to “meet up on screen” in a special crossover.
“There’s no WhatsApp group,” he said. “But I would love some kind of reunion where all five of us meet up on screen.”
This might be a tough feat given the death of Miller’s Richard Poole in season three.
However, he did briefly return as a vision in Camille’s mind during Death in Paradise‘s 10th season, so there is precedent to bring the character back.

Beyond Paradise season three, which will premiere on March 28, promises a “thrilling” return for the new series “packed with mystery, humour, and heart”.
“We follow DI Humphrey Goodman and the team as they tackle more mind-boggling puzzles, all set against the breathtaking landscapes of Devon and Cornwall,” reads the synopsis.
It also expands on Humphrey and Martha’s parenting journey as they welcome new foster child Rosie, a 9-year-old who “brings more challenges than they anticipated”.
Meanwhile, Death in Paradise is set to air its season 14 finale on the same day as Beyond Paradise‘s return, following a scheduling change to make way for Comic Relief on BBC One.
Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise both air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
