Former Hollyoaks star Twinnie-Lee Moore is set to join the cast of Emmerdale.

The actress and singer, 37, will make her first appearance on the show this Friday, as ambitious and ruthless boxing promoter Jade.

We’ve technically already been introduced to the character, as she was heard speaking to Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) on the phone at the end of Wednesday’s instalment.

He’d had quite a busy day, having received medical attention from John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) after sustaining serious injuries in an illegal underground boxing fight.

Back at home, wife Dawn (Olivia Bromley) was expecting him to drive to the hospital to collect their seriously unwell son Evan. As viewers of the ITV soap know, the youngster was diagnosed with leukaemia earlier in the year.

John and Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) warned Billy against fighting, telling him that the next time could have lethal consequences.

Despite the turmoil, he seemed tempted by Jade’s offer of another fight – at double the money.

In upcoming scenes, she continues to mount pressure on Billy to continue in the dangerous trade. It soon becomes clear that she has an agenda, and it isn’t his safety.

The story will continue over the next few months, and we’ll see whether or not he will regret his association with Jade – and whether he has put his family in grave danger.

What is she capable of?

Between 2014 and 2015, Twinnie appeared as Porsche McQueen in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. She’s also had roles in Chicago, Flashdance and Rock of Ages.

Since then she’s moved to Tennessee to pursue a career as a country music singer.

On playing Jade, Twinnie said: ‘My life has been a bit crazy recently juggling music and acting with lots of back and forth between Nashville and Yorkshire but I’ve been loving it!’

‘I’ve loved being back on screen, especially as the show is shot in Yorkshire, being able to be home with family and go to work on such an iconic show has been nothing short of amazing!

‘The whole team has been so welcoming and really supportive. My character is so much fun to play and I can’t wait to see how the audience reacts to her.’
