The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn’t aired on ITV yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.

Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) had to act fast in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale as Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) suffered a flashback from when he was spiked.

Last week, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) was forced to swerve while driving a limo when she spotted Noah staggering into the middle of the road. He was eventually found and rushed to hospital, with a doctor then confirming he had been spiked with drugs.

Noah has little to no memory of what happened but has been experiencing blurred flashbacks.

This happened again while in the pub tonight. Once he had a conversation with Joe, Noah remembered being in a hospital with a doctor, and someone he believed was his brother.

Joe managed to cover and claim that Noah’s memory is hazy and the drugs have clearly impacted his mental health. Listening into the conversation though was Charity and Ross Barton (Michael Parr), who didn’t buy Joe’s comments at all.

Ross later confronted Joe outside The Hide. He tied him up, threw him into a barn and said that if he didn’t get the truth, he’d drug him.

Frustratingly for Ross, Joe was able quash any suspicions because he seemingly had proof that he wasn’t anywhere near Noah when he was in hospital.

In the clear, Joe hoped that Ross would cut him free and let him go.

The troublemaker ended up leaving Joe in the barn ‘for the LOLs’. Unbeknownst to Ross, Joe is hiding a secret about his health and when he was left alone, his symptoms started to get worse.

Joe managed to break the barn door down and escape. He stumbled back to Home Farm and called his friend, who is called Doctor Crowley.

The doctor, played by James Hillier, pulled Joe to his bedroom and was able to help him feel better.

Crowley then pointed to an item that Joe has been hiding in his room. He told his friend/client/we don’t quite know at the moment that the secret item is not a very good ‘long term plan’.

Joe hoped their long term plan would hurry up, then telling Crowley he isn’t sure ‘how much time’ he’s got left.

We’re certainly getting closer to learning what Joe is hiding.

But how bad are things going to get before we learn the truth?
