Emmerdale flogs props and rare memorabilia for just 99p after soap makes cuts

ITV's Emmerdale's bosses are selling show props and merchandise for fans to buy on eBay amid reports the soap made cuts to its schedule, which will kick in next year

Emmerdale bosses are selling show props and merchandise for as little as 99p on eBay.

Last month, ITV announced that both the Yorkshire-set soap and Coronation Street would be going down from six episodes a week to five as part of a huge schedule shake-up. ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment Kevin Lygo admitted it would affect staff who work on both shows, and that it was a strategic move to protect the beloved programmes long term.

But it seems that axing characters and reducing output aren’t the only way channel bosses are balancing the books as it’s been reported that there has been a flurry of Emmerdale-related lots listed on ITV’s official eBay store, ITV ReLoved.

Among the pieces of ‘as seen on TV’ treasure include an invite to Kim Tate’s doomed wedding to Will Taylor, plus a real leather wallet used by the character until his shock death on Christmas Day.

Other useful items include a stainless steel hip flask used by Rose Taylor, a Home James Haulage travel mug which would be perfect for your daily commute, and a casual T-shirt with “Dougette” emblazoned across the front. There’s also been more niche items listed, including Samson Dingle’s piggybank (which sold for £26.26), and Nicky Milligan’s bronze medal.

It’s not just bits and bobs from soapland which are up for auction. There’s clothes worn by GMB presenters, hats and costumes from Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, and branded props from hit shows like The Chase, too.

The soap schedule shake-up will start from January 2026. Currently, Emmerdale airs every day at 7.30pm on ITV with a half an hour episode, and a special hour episode each Thursday. Coronation Street, meanwhile, airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm for an hour.

But from January, there will be a daily soap ‘power hour’, with Emmerdale airing for half an hour each day at 8pm and Coronation Street straight after at 8.30pm, again for half an hour, as the drama from the Cobbles returns to its daily offerings. The special soap schedule change will begin in January 2026 with a huge stunt week for both soaps. The soaps will remain being uploaded to ITVX at 7am each morning.

ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment Kevin Lygo said: “This new commissioning pattern will mean five hours of soaps a week, rather than the current six. We are conscious this will have an impact for the people who work on the soaps team. We will support our colleagues in ITV Studios as they work through these changes, and will do what we can to mitigate the impact on our people.

“These changes are motivated by doing what we believe is best for the continuing success of these important programmes in the long term. They also create headroom in the overall programme budget for investment in programming that can help ITV grow reach in a very very competitive market.”
