Emmerdale Moira Dingle actor shares life outside the soap as she reveals sad loss
Emmerdale actress Natalie J Robb has opened up on a heartbreaking death, and how she has welcomed a new addition to her family following the devastating loss
Emmerdale actress Natalie J Robb has shared her heartache over a recent “upsetting” loss.
The 50- year-old, who has portrayed Moira Dingle on the popular ITV soap since 2009, has also appeared in shows like The Bill and Sky One’s Dream Team.
Away from the cameras, Natalie enjoys spending time with her rescue dog Buddy. She welcomed the Spanish Mastiff into her life last November.
She adopted the pup from Spain, affectionately describing him as “looking like Bambi”. This came after the heart-breaking loss of her previous dog, Bronson, reports Belfast Live.

In a chat with Woman’s Weekly, she spoke about her canine companions: “When I’m not working I love spending time with my rescue dog Buddy. My next goal is to properly train him. I’ve got to work on his recall, so he comes back to me.”
She added: “Another goal is to pick up Spanish again. I was learning it, but when my last dog died, I stopped. It’s been a year since I lost him. It’s still upsetting and I have days where I have wobbles and miss him, but Buddy has brought me a lot of happiness; I love having an animal back in my life.”
Natalie previously disclosed that she had a lock of Bronson’s chest fur encased in a necklace as a lasting tribute to her beloved pet. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, she said: “I had him for thirteen and a half years, it’s a long time so it was awful, and it was just me and him.”
The soap star revealed she’s crafted a unique tribute to her beloved pooch, saying: “I got this necklace made of him, it’s got his chest fur inside, aquamarine is my favourite stone and this is a good one to wear near your heart centre. His chest hair is inside there and his ear hair is inside there. I wore it for about two weeks and then I saw this dog.”
After the loss of Bronson, she experienced a “dream” about a “beige dog with black eyes and a black nose as an adult” which eerily foretold her encounter with Buddy, a pup that bore the exact markings from her vision.
She continued: “And then after I got this necklace, two weeks later I saw it as a pup and I just went ‘that’s uncanny, that’s weird.’ So I just enquired about it, and the next day they called. So it was meant to be.”
Upon welcoming Buddy into her home, Natalie said: “He’s a Spanish Mastin so he looks like Bambi, he’s really tall and got beautiful black eyeliner, I think, ‘Wow Buddy, how have you done your eyes so perfectly?’ He’s got beautiful eyes and he just looks like a dog on stilts at the moment.
“He came last night and he was all frightened and within two minutes he was cuddling us. He’s six months so he’s been in kennels since he was born.”
