Emmerdale’s Martelle Edinborough has paid tribute to the show following the death of her character.
Last Friday, Martelle’s soap alter-ego Suzy Merton joined a group of her village friends for a night out in a limo.
At the start, the females were enjoying themselves, but things took an awkward turn when passenger Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) decided to try and propose to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).
Disaster then struck for the group, as Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) was forced to swerve the limo due to Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) stumbling into the middle of the road.
Yesterday, the aftermath of the crash unfolded as the residents discovered the limo was stuck in the middle of an icy lake.
As they panicked, Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) noticed Suzy wasn’t awake. During the crash, she had hit her head on the roof of the limo and sadly, did not survive.
The time for grieving had to be put on hold, as the characters were forced to slowly cross the frozen lake one by one, praying it didn’t crack.
Martelle Edinborough played events organiser Suzy Merton from 2022. Following the character’s death, the star took to social media platform X to say her goodbye.
She wrote in a sweet message: ‘And just like that….Suzy is no more and a new chapter begins!! What an ep!
‘It’s been such a blessing to have been a part of such an iconic show that I grew up on and loved by so many!! #Journeys.’
At the end of last night’s episode, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) attempted to cross the ice.
She very nearly made it to dry land, but the ice then broke beneath her feet, causing Amy to fall into the water.
As she struggled, Amy panicked when she spotted a floating corpse beside her.
Right now, it’s unknown as to who the body belongs to, but many fans of the ITV soap are wondering if it is Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), who disappeared from the village last year.
