Emmerdale actress Michelle Hardwick has teased a brand new storyline with Suzy after more details were revealed about her character's send-off
Michelle Hardwick has revealed a brand new storyline with Suzy Merton despite her tragic death on Emmerdale.
The actress plays Vanessa Woodfield on the ITV soap and in tragic scenes last week, her girlfriend Suzy lost her life in a horror limo crash. Two other people also died in the crash including Leyla Harding and Amy Wyatt.
In sad scenes, Vanessa had to leave Suzy behind as she escaped the limo, which sunk into an icy lake after the crash. Now it has been revealed Suzy will be at the forefront of a new storyline despite her sad death.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Michelle revealed: “When Vanessa was in Canada, Suzy and Mary had this connection but nothing came of it so to speak. Vanessa woo-ed her back and it was going really well. In the Woolpack, for Valentine’s, she sort of said to Suzy we’ve got a free house let’s go back and the reaction from Suzy wasn’t what Vanessa wanted.
“But she didn’t read too much into it. In the limo, she told her how much she loved her but she didn’t get anything back from Suzy. Vanessa’s just putting it down to Suzy being too stressed and she’s not reading anything into it – maybe she should have.”

Michelle was then asked how Vanessa might feel if she knew Suzy wasn’t as committed, hinting at a new storyline.
“I think she would be absolutely heartbroken but she wouldn’t believe it aswell. She’d be so heartbroken if she found that out, because Vanessa always puts 100 per cent into what she does. It would break her heart,” she said.
Before Suzy’s death, we were given hints that there had been something going on between Mary and Suzy. Mary hadn’t hid her feelings for Suzy – but never got a chance to tell her how she felt.
However, new spoilers have teased some flashbacks next week at a funeral in the village. Mary receives a text message from Vanessa telling her she won’t make it to the funeral. Mary comforts Vanessa, who is teary, but in a flashback, there is a glimpse at why Mary feels so much guilt – what is going to be revealed?
Michelle said of the scenes: “Mary’s going to be the biggest support to Vanessa going forward,” but what is she feeling guilty over and why? Could a new storyline be on the horizon regarding Suzy?
