Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly reveals ‘blunt’ hair transformation as she prepares for big event

Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has unveiled a new look as she prepares to hit the red carpet for this year’s British Soap Awards… and it’ll be very familiar to fans of the soap.
The actress, 48, plays Ruby Miligan on the ITV soap opera, and has been at the heart of some of this year’s most explosive storylines.
This included the revelation that she’d been abused by her father, Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) as a teenager.
During the ensuing fallout, Ruby killed the old man – sparking an enormous cover-up between Ruby, husband Caleb Miligan (William Ash), Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and more, as the guilty parties rushed to cover their tracks.
The soap will be hoping to score big at this year’s British Soap Awards, which is set to air on 31 May – with Beth up for Best Leading Performer alongside Emmerdale co-star Eden Taylor-Draper and EastEnders actresses Lacey Turner and Kellie Bright.
And, as Beth prepares for her big night, she’s paid her hairdresser a visit to bring back one of Ruby’s most distinctive looks.

Sharing a video to her Instagram account, Beth revealed the process as her hair was trimmed down to the short bob Ruby has become known for.
‘FIRST STEP TO GETTING A RED CARPET LOOK??…”GET BACK TO YOUR OG RUBY BOB,’ she wrote in the caption.
‘Shhhh! It was here even before @mslesliebibb’s marvellous #cvntylittlebob in @thewhitelotus featured in @instylemagazine 😜 (Which, let’s face it, we LOVE.)’ she joked, referring to the similar hairdo worn by Leslie Bibb in series three of HBO drama The White Lotus.
In the comments below, fans questioned whether she’d chosen the rest of her red carpet outfit yet.
‘NO!! 😂 but now the hair is sorted out I’m less worried tbh!!’ she wrote in response to one commenter.
Meanwhile, others were effusive in their praise for the soap icon.

‘looks so good! cant beat a bob 💇🏼♀️🤩’ said taylor.dunnx.
‘slaying naturally queen can’t wait to cheer you on get my hair done next week in prep ironically 😇’ wrote allaboutem97.
‘Beth you have such beautiful hair, I absolutely lovthe style ❤️’ agreed sandrahicks839.
‘I love you hair in a short bob,’ said jeannetteallen19.

Beth will face off against Eden, Lacey and Kellie in her category, while she and screen husband William are also nominated for Best On-Screen Partnership.
Elsewhere, Ned Porteous has been nominated as Villain Of The Year for his part as kidney-thieving Joe Tate, while Nicola Wheeler (Nicola King) is vying for Best Comedy Performance and Eden is up for Best Dramatic Performance for playing Belle Dingle in last year’s harrowing domestic abuse storyline.
Meanwhile, Shebz Miah is up for Best Newcomer as Kammy Hadiq, and April Windsor star Amelia Flanagan has been nominated for Best Young Performer.
