Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) just can’t resist sticking his nose where it’s not wanted in Emmerdale.
He was utterly disgusted when he learned that Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) intended to father Sarah Sugden’s (Katie Hill) baby and he made his feelings very clear on this.
So, when he learns that not only did his strong words have no effect, but that Jacob and Sarah plan to have a surrogate baby via Charity (Emma Atkins), Pollard’s mind is blown, and he knows he must sabotage this plan.
His sabotage begins with Mack (Lawrence Robb) as Pollard gleefully spills the secret that the others have so carefully kept to themselves.
Mack is distraught to learn this from the local shop owner that his wife plans to have another man’s baby.
He heads straight to Charity and an almighty row ensues as the stubborn bartender refuses to back down.
Jacob’s disgusted with his grandad for this terrible betrayal. But self-righteous Pollard is adamant he has done the right thing, both in protecting Jacob and in considering Sarah’s shortened life expectancy.
Mack is deeply wounded that Charity will carry Sarah’s baby and not his and they hit a stalemate – Charity is determined to support Sarah no matter what, but Mack wants to preserve their marriage.
Mack gives her an ultimatum – it’s either surrogacy or him.
And guess which Charity chooses?
