Emmerdale’s Moira breaks down amid farm ordeal as murder story is revisited

Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) had an awful lot to contend with in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale.
Last week, the farm owner discovered the slurry tank had leaked and spilled into the main water supply for the village. Due to the fact Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) was the last person near it, he got the blame, but it was actually John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
The contaminated liquid has caused a massive impact on the whole of Emmerdale. Victoria’s (Isabel Hodgins) son Harry is in hospital after drinking some dirty water, other residents are unwell, and they’re also buying bottled water to drink while the situation is managed.
In tonight’s episode, Moira learnt from the insurance company that they won’t help her deal with the spill, because it happened as a result of reckless behaviour. Cain (Jeff Hordley) tried to reassure her, but Moira couldn’t help but wonder if this marked the beginning of the end of Butlers Farm.

Just as she tried to process the development, Ross (Michael Parr) arrived and reminded her that Lewis (Bradley Riches) was outside ready to meet her. Moira had agreed to meeting Lewis, and told Cain and Ross that they’d stick to their original story when it came to Emma Barton’s death.
Unfortunately though, Moira was taken aback by Lewis’ forward personality, and gradually found it more and more difficult to hold onto the lie about who really killed his mum.
Lewis has autism, which means he sometimes isn’t able to understand social cues and whether he’s upsetting or offending someone. As he pondered over Emma, he noted that Adam Barton doesn’t look like a killer, and continued to push for more information about her from Moira.
Poor Moira struggled to keep up with Lewis’ fast brain, and became overwhelmed fairly quickly. It meant that Ross had to step in and tell Lewis to stop, and then they left.
We know that Lewis is sticking around as he’s going to find himself involved in a storyline relating to the cannabis plants he’s growing, but what about Moira?
He certainly seemed suspicious tonight – will he figure out the truth about how Emma died?
