Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) was the next person to give Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) some bad news in tonight’s Emmerdale.

In a small space of time, Cain has been told that his son has been murdered, he then learnt his daughter had moved to Australia without telling him and a couple of days ago, he discovered his granddaughter has cancer.

It’s been one thing after another for Cain…and things aren’t getting any easier for him.

A couple of days ago, Cain tried to speak to Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) about Nate’s funeral. Due to the ongoing feud between her and Cain though, Tracy made it abundantly clear that he wouldn’t be welcome at the event.

In tonight’s episode, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) overheard Tracy talking to Charles (Kevin Mathurin) about the funeral in the café.

She then made her way to Tracy’s home to talk to her, hoping she could change her mind about Cain going. Unfortunately, when Belle spoke about the fact no-one knows what happened to Nate, Tracy thought this was her way of suggesting that she killed him.

Disgusted at Belle’s comments, Tracy concluded that the whole of the Dingle family would be banned.

Feeling bad, Belle made her way over to the garage to tell Cain about the development. He didn’t react with anger though, far too exhausted with everything that’s been going on.

Instead, he told Belle that they’d continue with the plan of the Dingles giving Nate their own send off, and tried to carry on with his work.

Moments later, Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) approached Cain and put his foot in it by telling him about Sarah’s (Katie Hill) IVF. In this moment, Cain did react with rage and pushed Jacob against the car he was working on.

Following Zak Dingle’s (Steve Halliwell) death, Cain now sees himself as the head of the family, someone people turn to for help and support.

But with so much on his plate right now, will Cain continue keeping his head above water?
