Emmerdale’s Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) is facing a desperate fight for life as her condition took a spectacular turn for the worse in the most recent episode.

There had been hope that Amy would pull through after being pulled from a potential watery grave in the nick of time.

After crashing through the icy surface with a chilling scream, she battled to escape and then seemed to drift lifelessly down.

But she was hauled to safety and, while blue with the cold, fans had been praying for her survival, along with her desperate mum Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton).

Rushed to hospital, she remained unconscious, with her loved ones being told she is in the right place.

However, as the night wore on, a dreadful twist of fate unfolded as doctors raced in when she began fitting and her medical equipment sounded their urgent alarms.

With Kerry panicking over what this might mean for her daughter, true fear set in and we have been left on the cliffhanger to end them all.

Will Amy survive? It all remains to be seen for now.

If she does die, it would make her the third victim claimed in the disaster, one of Emmerdale’s most deadly of all time.

Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) had been killed in the impact of the crash and leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) died from blood loss on the way to the hospital.

This left her son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) heartbroken as he held her body close after eventually finding her.

The hospital is awash with grief, as Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) also mourns the loss of girlfriend Suzy.

And Chas (Lucy Pargeter) is also waiting to hear news of Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) who remains in a critical condition with a serious head energy.

Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) is also in a bad way after collapsing after wandering in a woozy way across the road.

With Charity (Emma Atkins) having swerved to avoid him, something which led to the crash, she is fighting the double trauma of blaming herself for the tragedy and also worrying about Noah.

It’s a night that will live heartbreakingly in the memory of the village. And it seems that, with Amy’s situation, the losses might yet continue…
