John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) has been revealed to be a killer in Emmerdale, and he could be about to go serial.

So far viewers know that he killed Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) by injecting him with something shortly after he was attacked. John believed the medicine would help Nate, but he reacted badly to it and died.

He’s demonstrated a weird hero complex too, whereby he causes moments of near-death experiences for those around him only for him to swoop in and save the day. He even nominated himself for a hero award.

It’s also become clear that the army friend Aidan he said had died is very much alive, but in a coma that John seemingly put him in. On a recent visit to his poorly friend, John menacingly whispered in his ear that he would have to do away with him.

Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) has placed herself in the frame as a potential next victim, having gone digging around in John’s secrets under the guise of finding friends of his to invite to the wedding. She learned about Aidan and started to question what else John has lied about.

But there’s another name to add to John’s kill list – Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

Vic and Mack are John and Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) best woman and best man respectively, so they have between them taken on the task of arranging the joint stag.

After John and Aaron poo-pooed their early ideas for entertainment, including male strippers with big fire hoses, they decided to ditch the betrothed and make the plans themselves.

Between them they settle on the idea of paintballing. With the plans made, and with John knowing his way around a gun, Mack starts goading John about his time in the military.

This is a dangerous game. John has no sense of humour and a short fuse. He does not take kindly to Mack’s jibes.

The fact is, no one knows the truth about John’s military background – with him having lied about what happened to Aidan, no one really knows who the true military John is.

Has Mack made himself John’s next target?
