Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has had John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) number from the moment he met him – will he be instrumental in getting justice for Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter)?

John knows it’s a matter of time before he’s discovered as Nate’s killer so he’s at the point of desperate acts to cover his own back.

He has already told the ginormous fib that Owen, a patient at the surgery, confessed to Nate’s murder during his appointment with him. Now he’s about to go one better in framing the innocent man.

Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) makes a house call at Owen’s but is worried when he gets no response and calls the police. They gain entry to the house and make the shocking discovery that Owen is dead – and there’s a confession to murder on his laptop. How convenient.

This is perfect for John and his plans to frame the man who tried to drug Robert. DS Walsh takes this huge news to Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Tracy (Amy Walsh).

Everyone is suitably shocked and struggling to deal with this information, but it’s when Robert learns of the turn of events that John’s new cover up becomes unstable.

Robert is initially shaken that the man who had drugged him had murdered someone else. But then he clocks how shifty John seems about it all. DC Cole later visits the surgery on an information gathering exercise, and when Robert spots this, he’s keen to do his own investigating.

Claudette (Flo Wilson) shares that John had visited Owen’s house right before he died, which tells Robert he’s on the right track.

Robert later arranges to meet Owen’s brother Steve to dig even further, and he learns exactly what he needed to know – Owen had a solid alibi for the day that Nate died.

Robert thinks he’s on to John, and it appears John is now on borrowed time. Robert takes the information to the police – is this the beginning of the end for the murderous medic?
