Selwyn Patterson is no longer going to be Commissioner in Death In Paradise with fans eager to know all there is about who his replacement will be.
While most of the cast has been shaken up since the BBC cosy crime drama debuted in 2011, Catherine Bordey (played by Elizabeth Bourgine) and Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) have been the only two consistent characters throughout its run.
But last week, it was revealed that Selwyn would no longer be Honore Police’s Commissioner as he had to step back from the force.
Now, in this week’s episode which airs on Friday, March 6, a new character will be welcomed to the island to take over the key role.

It has been teased that when Sterling does show up, he is going to arrive in style, dressed in a suit and stepping out of a flash car.
He doesn’t exactly make the first best impression though as when he steps into Selwyn’s workspace, he describes it as “cute”.
It’s also been reported that Sterling will try to get in DI Mervin Wilson’s ( Don Gilet ) way as he continues to investigate his mum’s suspicious death.
Sterling is portrayed by actor Blackwood-Cambridge who is best recognised for playing Josh Hudson in the BBC medical drama Holby City for two years.

He has also had roles in Enterprice, This Way Up, Make Me Famous and the Disney+ thriller Rematch.
As of yet though, it isn’t clear if Sterling is going to be a permanent fixture in Death In Paradise.
The BBC series hasn’t been listed on Blackwood-Cambridge’s IMDb page so there is potential that he will only be temporarily filling in the Commissioner’s position.
But in the meantime, how is Sterling going to impact the Saint Marie police station and what will Selwyn get up to when he isn’t working?
