Who is Denis Guyenon on Death In Paradise as show pays tribute after sad death
Death In Paradise ended with a tribute to Denis Guyenon, who has passed away. Denis was remembered as the show wrapped up its 14th series tonight
Death In Paradise have paid tribute to Denis Guyenon. At the end of the episode, a message on screen read: “En la mémoire de notre ami Denis Guyenon 24/06/1965 – 06/07/2024,” which translates from French as “in memory of our friend”.
Denis had worked on the show as their stills photographer, a part of the Camera and Electrical Department. He held the role for seven years, between 2017 and 2024, which would have seen him photograph a number of the show’s detectives including DI Humphrey Goodman, who was played by Kris Marshall. Denis also worked with Ardal O’Hanlon, who played DI Jack Mooney.
The final detectives Denis had worked with were DI Neville Parker – played by Ralf Little – and Ben Miller, who played DI Richard Poole. Tributes have been left for Denis following his death, with the executive producer admitting the set feels “different” without Denis.
Tim Key, the show’s Executive Producer, said: “Stills photographer Denis Guyenon was a much loved and key part of the Death in Paradise family, having worked on the programme from the very beginning.
“Chances are that if you saw a photograph of the show, then Denis had taken it. A kind, warm-hearted and talented man who cared very much about the show and all of the people who worked on it, our set feels different without him on it.
“He will be very much missed by all of his friends on the cast and crew and our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.”
In a further tribute, Alex Gill, Picture Publicist, shared: “For me, he became a friend and partner-in-crime over the 13 years I worked with him. He was so integral to the Death In Paradise family and the success of the show.”
“Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he always wanted to make us proud and ensure we had everything we needed to publicise the show. The team loved him, and he made many friends over the years.
“His family said he was always the happiest when he was working on Death In Paradise.”
