Beyond Paradise exit ‘sealed’ for beloved character after heartbreaking ‘bombshell’
Beyond Paradise was back on Friday and saw Humphrey Goodman solving another mysterious crime
Beyond Paradise could see the exit of one beloved character following a health scare. During Friday’s instalment, Anne Lloyd (Barbara Flynn) began to worry after discovering a mole on her back.
As she tried to look closer at the mole, Zoe (Melina Sinadinou) caught her and quizzed her about it.
“I had one of those,” Zoe told a startled Anne. “That’s what it is, isn’t it? A dodgy mole?”
“Where on earth did you come from?” Anne asked, to which Zoe replied: “Sorry, Martha asked me to drop these off. Homemade fish fingers for little Rosie.”
“Have you met her yet?” Zoe quizzed as Anne explained she hadn’t just yet as Martha wanted Rosie to settle in first.
Turning her attention back to Anne’s mole, Zoe said: “Anyway, it is bad if it is crusty or changes shape, I think. Sorry, I didn’t mean to pry.”
“It’s alright, I am sure it is nothing,” Anne laughed as Zie asked: “So you want me to take a look?”
As Anne refused, Zoe warned: “You should get someone to look at it though, someone who knows what they are looking for.”
Ahead of the new series, the actress who plays Anne opened up about her character’s health scare.
She said: “At the end of the previous series, Anne was in a very tender and vulnerable place. She had experienced a terrible betrayal and a profound loss of trust.
“In this new series, she’s busy trying to move on with her life in a very focused and solitary way, throwing herself into tasks to keep going. Then, out of nowhere, a bombshell hits. It’s a shock.”
She continued: “The issue is deeply private for her, but it ends up intertwined with her charming relationship with Zoe. It’s not exactly a grandmother-granddaughter relationship but more of a unique, evolving friendship.
“Instead of confiding in Martha, who Anne feels reluctant to burden, Zoe manages to draw it out of her in her direct, youthful, clumsy, yet completely adorable way.
“Anne is, in a way, forced to take action because of Zoe’s persistence. She likely would have done something eventually, but Zoe’s involvement gives her a push to act sooner.”
