Death in Paradise fans shocked to learn Don Gilet is dating famous actress
Death in Paradise viewers have been left stunned after discovering that DI Mervin Wilson actor Don Gilet has been in a relationship with a very famous face

Death in Paradise viewers were stunned to learn that Don Gilet is dating a well-known actress.
The 59-year-old star, who portrays DI Mervin Wilson in the BBC detective series, has been romantically linked with Happy Valley’s Siobhan Finneran since 2018.
The pair first crossed paths on the set of ITV’s crime drama The Loch, where Siobhan, 60, played DCI Lauren Quigley while Don took on the role of forensic psychologist Blake Albrighton.
Don is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of the villainous Lucas Johnson in EastEnders, while Siobhan has made her mark playing Janice Garvey in Benidorm, Nikki Kirkbright in Cold Feet, and Sarah O’Brien in Downton Abbey.

In the most recent series of Death in Paradise, which aired earlier this year, Siobhan made a guest appearance alongside Don, playing Fleur Edwards, an artist who had moved to Saint Marie three months earlier in search of creative inspiration, reports the Express.
Speaking about working together on the BBC show, Don joked during a This Morning interview that his partner had expected him to pop the question on set.
Host Alison Hammond wasted no time quizzing the actor about guest stars in the new series, saying: “Your girlfriend’s gonna be in this, is isn’t she?”, before joking: “I like what you did there when you got her on the holiday.”
Don quipped back: “I thought they edited her out”. The studio erupted with laughter as he continued, “I said to her, I’ve got a surprise for you, and she thought I was gonna propose.”
He continued: “She loved doing it and it was great working with her. She has come a long way. Have you not seen the stillness she created in front of the camera since being with me, there is something, you can’t bottle it.”

He went on: “There’s something about the way she acts now. There’s a new confidence to her and she gets more work now.”
Despite the pair having been together for eight years, it appears some fans have only just cottoned on to Don and Siobhan’s romance.
Taking to X, one baffled viewer wrote: “Sorry, how have I just learned that Don Gilet and Siobhan Finneran have been in a relationship since 2018… 8 YEARS!?!?!?”
Another person declared: “Sorry, they’re WHAT????”, while a third simply responded with an image of a gobsmacked expression.
“Lucas and Janice?!” questioned one fan as another chipped in: “Them two!?!?!”
