BBC Death in Paradise season 15, episode 1 cast as guest stars join line-up
The new series of Death in Paradise includes a star-studded guest list as Gavin & Stacey and Horrible Histories actors join cast for season 15
Death in Paradise returns for series 15, and the latest chapter of the beloved BBC drama boasts an impressive roster of guest stars alongside the regular ensemble.
Series 15 will feature Don Gilet reprising his role as DI Mervin Wilson, joined by Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey, Shantol Jackson as Sergeant Naomi Thomas, and Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Officer Sebastian Rose. Daniel Ward also makes a comeback as Mervin’s newly discovered half-brother Solomon.
The main cast has undergone significant changes, with Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, portrayed by Don Warrington, making his return following a spell away, whilst new addition Sergeant Mattie Fletcher, played by Catherine Garton, joins the squad after Ginny Holder’s departure as Darlene Curtis.
As expected, Death in Paradise’s regular characters will be accompanied by numerous guest stars, with this year featuring some particularly notable names, including Gavin & Stacey favourite Steffan Rhodri, best recognised for his portrayal of Dave Coaches in the BBC sitcom, and Horrible Histories and Miranda actress Sarah Hadland. Sarah Hadland plays Deborah Shelman
Horrible Histories performer Sarah Hadland takes on the role of Deborah Shelman in Death in Paradise series 15, episode one, becoming the opening guest star of the new series. Audiences will also know Sarah from her stint as Trish Collingwood in The Job Lot and Stevie in Miranda, a character she portrayed between 2009 and 2015, reports the Express.
She additionally appeared as Linda Radleigh in Waterloo Road and Gillian McGovern in Moving Wallpaper.
In recent years, Sarah featured in Daddy Issues as Rita and as Monic in the television series, Murder, They Hope. She’s also recognised for her substantial voiceover contributions to children’s programmes.
Steffan Rhodri plays George McCann
Gavin & Stacey favourite Steffan Rhodri takes on George McCann. Steffan gained fame portraying Dave Coaches in the beloved BBC sitcom from 2007 to 2024, returning for the Christmas special.
The Swansea-native also appeared as Lord Hobert Hightower in House of the Dragon, and King Hywel in The Last Kingdom. His other credits encompass Manhunt, Keeping Faith, Steeltown Murders, Fifteen-Love and Death Valley.
Harry Potter enthusiasts might also recall Steffan from Deathly Hallows: Part 1, where he portrayed Reg Cattermole.
Maxine Finch plays Rosalie Dolor
Maxine Finch assumes the character of Rosalie. Maxine recently featured in the television series Playing Nice, and also emerged in The Bay as Meg Dawson.
Additional credits encompass The Devil’s Hour on Amazon and Apple’s Trying, alongside BBC’s Moving On.
Soap devotees may recognise Maxine from her various cameo appearances in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Doctors.
Will Close plays Kevin Felton
Will portrays Kevin, with television appearances including Midsomer Murders, Dalgliesh and Buffering. He’s also scheduled to guest star in series 29 of Silent Witness as Dr Dankford.
Will has also made his mark on stage, earning an Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Harry Kane in James Graham’s highly praised Dear England.
Louis Davison plays Leo Quinn
Louis steps into the character of Leo Quinn. Louis is most recognised for his role as Prince Edmund in the massively successful Netflix drama Vikings Valhalla.
His credits also include Geoffrey Charles in Poldark and Parker Whitfield in Holby City. Additionally, he appeared as Simon in Find Me in Paris and recently portrayed Pte. Harry Farr in the film The Fallow Few.
